September 2, 2014 By Shane Vander Hart

During last week’s Twitter rally targeting Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Women on the Wall held a conference call that featured a number of guests including former member of the Common Core Math Standards validation committee Dr. James Milgram of Stanford University. I wanted to highlight that section of the call as Women on the Wall […]

March 12, 2014 By Shane Vander Hart

The Indiana Senate voted 35-13 today to concur with the House version of SB 91, Indiana’s Common Core Repeal bill, so the bill will head to Governor Mike Pence (R-IN).  Pence has expressed support for Hoosiers creating their own standards so it is likely he will sign the bill. Chalkbeat Indiana points out that the original […]

Indiana’s Draft Standards: A Scoop of Common Core with Some Junk on Top?

February 27, 2014 By Shane Vander Hart

The idea for pausing the Common Core in Indiana and then putting the kibosh on them is that the Hoosier state would actually come away with better standards. Somebody needs to tell that to the review committee working on them.  I’ve already written that it looks like the math standards will continue to use fuzzy […]
