A Dataless Report on Social-Emotional Learning

The National Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development with The Aspen Institute released a report in March entitled “The Practice Base For How We Learn: Supporting Students’ Social, Emotional, and Academic Development” which is a “Consensus Statements of Practice from the Council of Distinguished Educators.” (AKA propaganda)

What struck me as I read through this is that it lacks footnotes and references. It lacks any mention of studies done. The only “data’ mentioned is another statement out of The Aspen Institute.

You’d think they would at least give lip service to being evidence-based.

They say the research is coming.

You can read it below. Let us know what you think of the report by leaving a comment.

  1. Aspen Institute is probably one of the most left leaning organizations in America and internationally. The UN planning conference for the 1992 Rio Environmental Summit was held at the Aspen campus (1991). When I saw that Paul Ryan was an Aspen fellow I knew then (years ago) he was bad news. He was in the same class as Debbie Wasserman Schultz. No real conservative is an Aspen Fellow. It was originally called Aspen Institute of Humanistic Studies but the Humanistic Studies was removed in 1989 because it had negative connotations….Gee ya think?? They believed in Secular Humanism…..there is no God….man controls everything. Barack Obama’s mother was a Secular Humanist. Aspen is listed as a registered NGO with the UN. Aspen is supported by the George Soros Open Society (promotes open borders) and Maurice Strong (UN Rio Summit Agenda 21) was at one time the Director of Aspen but now held as a Trustee Emeriti. Aspen is largely funded by Rockefeller, Carnegie and Ford Foundations (Barack Obama’s mother worked for the Ford Foundation)

An article by Nancy Thomson sums up Aspen Institute (07/15/2001)
“Let’s hope the Aspen Institute doesn’t manage to fool any of the people any time after reading this and other articles discussing the real agenda behind their PR constructed exterior. This organization is nothing more than a satellite UN using OUR money, OUR legislators, and OUR formerly US companies to facilitate OUR entry into the New World Order.”
