North Carolina may soon be joining their neighbors to the South in ending the Common Core in their state.  Yesterday we reported that the North Carolina House passed HB 1061 which will replace the Common Core with standards better suited for North Carolinians.

The North Carolina Senate just passed the companion bill SB 812 today on a 33 to 15 vote.  This bill will be sent to the House.  There may be some differences between the two bills since three amendments were approved.

We’ll keep you updated.
