George Will’s Common Core Elevator Speech

This is probably one of the best summaries of Common Core I’ve seen yet.  It’s very difficult to create an elevator speech on this topic, but George Will has come close in his response to Juan Williams on Special Report with Bret Baier on Fox News last night.  Granted you can go deeper with problems with the content, etc., but he delivers on the overarching problem with Common Core, it’s adoption and implementation at the policy level.  “This is a thin edge of an enormous wedge of Federal power….”

When are we yet going to see centralization in education work in the United States?  The Elementary and Secondary Education Act has been with us for 50 years he notes, and we’ve seen nothing but stagnation and decline.
