Everett Piper: Philosophical Reasons to Be Against the Common Core

Dr. Everett Piper, President of Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK, recently spoke at a Common Core rally in Edmond, OK.  He makes the case that the Common Core State Standards are “common” and that a true liberal arts education has no place for “common.”  He says ideas have consequences and that ideas matter.  Piper notes that every human and every human institution is blessed and cursed by their guiding principles; by the importance they place on them.  Dr. Piper is the author of Why I’m a Liberal and Other Conservative Ideas.
