Update: Common Core Replacement Bill Passes North Carolina House

The North Carolina House Education Committee passed HB 1061 which is a bill designed to “replace Common Core to meet North Carolina’s needs.”  The vote was 27 to 16 to send the bill to the House floor.

Andrea also noted that this bill has been placed on the calendar for today.  The Senate Education Committee will hear SB 812 today as wellSB 812 is the companion bill to HB 1601.

Update: The North Carolina Senate Education Committee passed SB 812.

2nd Update: The North Carolina House passed HB 1061 on a 78-39 vote.
