Betty Peters is a TAE advocate from Dothan, AL. She is a former member of the Alabama State Board of Education. In 1983 she graduated summa cum laude from Troy University (Dothan) with a B.S. in accounting. She served on the university’s newspaper staff and was president of Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society. Betty is or has been a member of the National Association of Scholars, Eagle Forum of Alabama, the Dothan Chamber of Commerce, the Houston County Children’s Policy Council and the Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities.

New Name, Same Old Education Fad

Betty Peters: Years ago, I said that it appears No Child Left Behind (NCLB) had through Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21) been replaced with No Vendor Left Behind (NVLB) eventually called the Common Core State Standards Initiative (CCSSI). Looks like we’re stuck with this forever regardless of the name used.
