On State Takeovers of School Districts

A state takeover of a local school district takes away the voice of the taxpayers and parents and it’s questionable (at best) they even work.

Kentucky Pulls Out of PARCC

Kentucky Delays Next Generation Science Standards; Social Studies Standards

Interesting development out of Kentucky.  Kentucky’s State Board of Education also adopted the Next Generation Science Standards despite a lot of criticism.  A legislative committee voted against it 5-1.  Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear said they would be adopting regardless.
