Glenn Beck Outs the Common Core

image

Glenn Beck today highlighted the Common Core on his show on The Blaze TV.  His guests were Emmett McGroarty of American Principles Project, Sherena Arrington, a political consultant from Georgia, and two teachers from Utah, David Cox and Christel Swasey.

Beck in his opening remarks gave a wake-up call for those who may be apathetic about the Common Core.

Here is a segment where they discuss data collection, and that is something that every parent should be concerned about. The Common Core and data collection go hand in hand.

This segment highlights the fuzzy math that the Common Core promotes and how it is degrading our liberty through the process it was implemented

Mr. Beck is incorrect on at least one point. Teachers and unions are not gobbling this up. I am a teacher in Indiana, our association representative and a member of Indiana State Teachers’ Association. We teachers and our union in Indiana have been against this from the beginning. But it was rammed through by our Republican dominated Assembly, Republican Governor Mitch Daniels and Republican Superintendent of Public Education Tony Bennett. (Yes the Tony Bennett that is Jeb Bush’s lackey.)
The Indiana state education standards were more rigorous than Common Core, but they passed it anyway. Why? Did you know Tony Bennett is on the board that created the Common Core assessment called PARCC? Follow the money! And now that Bennett was voted out of office and appointed in Florida my colleagues in the Sunshine state are having Common Core thrust upon them.
Many teachers do NOT support Common Core.

I think we should carry on with the existing state standards that produce millions of kids incapable of entering college or the workforce. Full speed ahead.

So happy to read in the comments that teachers and unions see this for what it is! I am a conservative and I am sickened to see the REPUBLICANS who are supporting this abomination. Jeb Bush will NOT get my vote ever. Hope this can be stopped to save our children. There is already way to much indoctrination in our schools.
