O, I know its not official yet because the bills are still just a few days away from being filed but, Missouri will have FOUR bills seeking to get us out of common core. Two will specifically state we must get out of SBAC. You can safely add us to the list.

Once we have the bill numbers letters would be great. If you are registered on our site you should receive notice of the numbers. Coming this week! MOAgainstCommonCore.Com

Florida has not pulled out of PARCC completely. The stopped being the fiscal agent for PARCC and they are not using their testing but they are still members of the Consortia.

  4. Diane Marie says

Florida also initially did not agree to participate in the ability to make any of those 15% changes to the Standards. Now Pam Stewart, Commissioner of Education and Jeb Bush girl (Reformer) has stated one day she is making 40+ changes and then a couple of days ago she stated 96. She has also told us she has received a letter from the CCSSO allowing her to make changes but to date has not responded to any requests to see the letter from the CSSO. There are probably long strings attached to this because she then admitted any changes will not affect the Standards themselves. Florida is a mess or cronyism, corruption and just plain “good ole boy” dirty politics.

This will give you a sample of the war we are in!

It is also useful to point out that New Hampshire’s largest school district rejected the core. It was my understanding they have planned to use a different assessment, but I did not follow up on that story.

Think that Texas has never been involved in common core? Then look at what some materials that are used by scool districts may be using. On some printed materials used in the schools is a comment of “aligned with common core.” Is this not common core? One such publication using “Aligns with Common Core Standards” is News Currents which uses this and comments on the cover of Vol. 63 No. 1, Week of Oct. 7, 2013 “Readers Choice Top 100 products of 2013.”
You may want to check your school district to see if this news publication. You may want to just ask your kids.
To get a closer look just google News Currents.
